cebisan perkongsian menjadi JPP...

At the moment you read this post, I’ve spent more RM1500 in only two weeks of being in Sydney. However, that’s not what makes my mind haywire, or the main reason why I write this time.

Though I am not in Malaysia anymore, though I am not with you physically friends, you are always in my mind. When I listened to the unpleasant stories and updates of our campus elections, whether in Unis such as UPM or IPGs, I feel down and triggers me to remember what JPP means to me..

IPG Kampus Pulau Pinang.

I was a JPP before, who initially didn’t want to participate in JPP at all, and unexpectedly won though I was condemning the HEP for forcing people to join the election in the manifesto session.

Holding the “takhifan” as a leader is actually putting us at the target board to be blamed at. Being a leader will allow all to see our weaknesses and makes us a sitting duck, when any issues or problems raise. As a teacher, the pure satisfaction of a teacher is when the students are able to use the knowledge that he/she share with them. As JPPs, we are all happy and satisfy when noticing all our friends, seniors and juniors can live happily as all their problems are solved. I am not trying to say that we (JPP 2010/2011) were so excellent and able to solve every issues but I did notice that JPPs elected were trying their best, neglecting their responsibilities to themselves, to their families, just to ensure their friends can sleep calmly. And I think it is not over-exaggerated to say we were “zalim” to ourselves in effort to be nice to other people.

I am really fortunate to be in JPP 2010/2011 as I was able to work together with those who were really passionate at doing their works, completing their responsibilities. Frankly, I was not so closed with them initially, but as what as ppl say, time solves (almot) everything. I became so closed with them especially with Anip, Kaber, Ipee, BoBo, Trex, Diela, Ikmal, Hakim, “Shap”, Aini, Kak Ain, when we was ordered to tie the KaS1M banner at the volleyball court at the middle nite. And thank to them for always giving me MERITS for my courtesy, for my polite and good manners =P

For K Chik, K Izma, Arwah Abdillah, Hasbullah, K Im,Mazwan, Pavi, David, IzzAh, K Pah, Alney,  and everybody … sorry coz couldn’t able to know u guys better.. Maybe InsyAllAh, we’ll meet again in two years later.

JPPs taught me about friendship, about passion, about satisfaction, about sacrifices, about respects, about sharing, about being calm when problems come, about happy, about sad, about misunderstanding, about war, about spreading knowledge, about relationships with lecturers and admins and etc…

For all friends who are elected as the student representatives whether in UNIs or IPGs, InsyAllAh, we all pray and hope you will able to do your jobs much better than the previous ones, for the sake of Malaysian future =D

Sydney is just awesome!

For the time being, I live in Villa 159, room number 5 (which is the smallest room among the fives), with Syazwan and another three Bangladeshi. One of them is IRFAN, which is such a good housemate-to-be, even treated me a milk tea+ “buah pegaga” = tasty milk tea!! U should have a try, really kaw, betui2 kaw  =D Hoever, the other two tenants will only be back from their holiday on March 2.

The weather is unpredictable here. On our 1st day here, the day was hot even hotter than Msia. Ok, it is summer, so what more to expect. But, on the next day and the next day and the next day, all were cold and made the sweater as our compulsory clothes at anytime, anywhere. It made us wonder why the seniors dared to play football with sleeveless t shirt while most of us were wearing long-sleeve t shirt. Then, he said to us,
“This cold is a normal cold, wait until the winter comes, then it will be really, really cold then…”
(Perrrgh… I need to buy a fan heater and thick quilt asap!)

I went to city on February 15, accompanied by our beloved seniors. I really astonished with the geography of Sydney as it is not tanah pamah like Kuala Lumpur, Selama or other cities in Msia. I said to my seniors,

“Wow, hebatnya orang yang boleh wat Bandar macam ni..!”

Unexpectedly, he replied,

“Hebatnya “orang” yang buat bentuk muka bumi mcm ni..!”

Sydney is the manifestation of how good the OZ is at preserving their historical buildings. They turn the old buildings to a must-to-visit tourism centre for the tourists like me. Hehe.. =P The buildings are just fantastic and incredible. Even the small “lorong” like “lorong haji taib in KL” is a place to find a halal livelihood in OZ.

We performed our Zohor prayer at the Botanical Garden, near the Sydney Opera House, while wearing our shoes! It is a new experience for most of us, and it sparked a new + undefined feeling during performing it. We felt so grateful as AllAh SwT has chosen us to be in a country which the Muslim community is minority, and it opens our eyes to a lot of the “hikmah” that we could not find/realize when we were in Msia. In Msia, we search for a surau or mosque to perform our prayers but it is not a must in overseas. This earth belongs to AllAh The Almighty, anywhere you step on is the place to do our responsibilities as the servants of Him.

Now we are in O-Week or Orientation Week, so we have a lot of leisure time. The classes will only start on February 21.. The serious phase will come soon, so I hope, I can cope with the new situation. As we all know, the accent used is different compared to the typical Msian lecturers, so I hope I won’t need too much time to adapt with the variety of accents.

Much more to share with ya.. till then, aslmualykum wbt?

the last post in malaysia in two years, i guess...

this will be the last post i write in Malaysia in two years coming... As most of my blog readers know, (since most of you are my friends), insyAllAh, im going to further my study for 2 years in B. Ed. TESOL, in  Macquarie Uni, Sydney, OZ. the details will be as stated as below.

at the time when this post is written (08 feb 2011), i really, really regret of myself as i didnt maximise my leisure holiday time to the fullest! there are a lot i can do to contribute to my parents and sibling unfortunately, i just realised it yesterday.

early in the morning (Feb 7, 2010), i changed my habit ( sleep back after performing the Subuh prayer) by cleaning my dad's aquarium. i should state here that there are FOUR aquariums in my house and it took hours to clean one, since it is very rare for us to clean them as we are all BUSY.

(ok, they are busy, not me...  =P)

then, i rushed to convert my MYR (Malaysia Ringgit) into AUD (Australia Dolar) in nearby banks. I forgot the fact of living in a small village called Kubu Gajah which the nearest "town" is SELAMA, PERAK. No sane people in this "pekan/kampung" will come along the way to do so. this thought might be in the mind of those people that i asked in the banks. Or maybe they thought like this,

"Kerek gilerrr budak kampung botak ni..!"

Since i didnt want to postpone it, i rode my EX5 motorcycle to KULIM where i could find a licensed money changer. i felt quite worry since i brought quite a sum of money to be converted into AUD. Thank Allah, everything just went fine.

after a short break and performing Asar prayer, i started the engine of my lawnmower. it has been quite a time since the last time i used it. just able to do it halfway when the Azan Maghrib broke the silence of that day.

i should cut this grass earlier, so that i could spend my time with another things.
  • cleaning the other 3 aquariums
  • washing my AGM 7780
  • washing my parents' cars
  • rearrange the things already in the store
  • putting all my maktab's thingy into the store
  • enhancing my cooking skills
  • repacking my stuffs over again
  • spending my time with my grandmother and grandpa
  • spending precious time with my parents
  • crying ? should this be on the list? huhu... not in the right place..maybe in KLIA..
  • etc...

no use of regretting all these undone things. now, move on and do what i can, in this short yet meaningful time.

let us play....

on the last hour in the KLIA, give a piece of paper to every member of our families and ask them to write their last words (it might be their hopes, wishes or unsaid speeches) on it. As the reciprocal, we will give the ones that we have written earlier to each of them.

hopefully, what written on those PIECE of PAPERS will cure our deep longing, and prevent us all from doing anything that will make us regret later.

for those who dont want to join this game, its only a suggestion.

"moga-moga pemergian kita dirahmati AllAh SwT di samping mendapat restu ibubapa ahli keluarga serta diiringi doa guru-guru, pesyarah-pesyarah dan sahabat handai.. Ameen."

bye- bye Malaysia! tanah tumpah darahku...

I just opened my Language Description file just now (feb, 3, 2011, 0000 hrs) and smiled at the mistakes that I had done almost three years ago… it leads to think of how enthusiastic our lecturers were, to teach us from the basic of English. I am really glad to have them as my lecturers and hope to have the opportunities to keep learning with them.

It might be the second times Mdm LEE SUI SAM entering my class. So, she wanted to know our abilities in English thus asked us (my classmates and I) to spell the words she said. After ten minutes, she asked us to discuss what we had written on the papers.

That was what I have done (almost) three years ago.

BRIDE : bridal (ans : GROOM)
POET : (ans : POETESS)
WAITER : waitress
MILLIONAIRE : millionairess
EMPEROR : emperor (ans : EMPRESS)
LION : cub (ans : LIONESS)
HEN : roaster (ans : COCK)

Huhu… it shows how weak my English master was and is. Hence, I want/need/should/ought/have to quote what Mdm LEE SUI SAM always said to us…

“ You really need to BUCK UP your ENGLISH proficiency!!”
